Accessibility
Fort Road connects to three of Edmonton’s major freeways; the Yellowhead Trail Freeway, Manning Freeway, and Wayne Gretzky Drive. Belvedere LRT Station is located in the middle of the Fort Road Business Improvement Area. It provides rapid access to Edmonton’s Downtown and other major employment centres.

Longevity
Fort Road was the Main Street for one of the initial settlements in Edmonton, the Village of North Edmonton. It was a railway hub and a meatpacking hub. That industry has relocated but Fort Road still remains an active commercial/industrial area with many businesses that have a long history.
Revitalization
While Fort Road still honours its history as the hub of western Canada’s meatpacking industry, it is now striving to become a new commercial/industrial hub to serve a growing northeast Edmonton.

Urban Living

Fort Road business area has a diverse mix of services and commercial/industrial activities. Its abutting residential communities have diverse and affordable housing forms from high-rise apartments to single-family homes on tree lined streets.
